Our Journey to Nadarra
For a number of years, we had entertained the idea of going 'off the grid', having our own piece of land and ultimately being as self sufficient as possible, in all aspects - food, power, day to day living.
In 2019, we were lucky enough to purchase the property that we now call 'Nadarra Hideaway'. Only 8kms from the town of Otorohanga, where we had been residing for 5 years. We were excited to be able to start our journey towards self sufficiency.
The name 'Nadarra Hideaway' reflects the property perfectly - 'Nadarra' is Scottish-Gaelic for natural, and 'Hideaway'- we are pretty well tucked away from everything. Our rustic barn style home is surrounded by native bush and farmland.
While we love having the space and privacy that our property offers, we felt that it was just too special to keep to ourselves! Not long after we moved in, we jumped straight in to setting up our Bed & Breakfast.
